How do I get an earlier driving test?
Put your test centre and the months you can do into the booking form, and we'll get you moved to an earlier date. Most people are sorted within a week. There's nothing to pay to get started, and nothing at all if we don't find you anything.
Can I get an early driving test anywhere in the UK?
We cover every driving test centre in the UK. Start typing your town or centre name on the booking form and yours will come up. If you can't see it, hit 'Request this centre' and we'll add it, then text you so you can get booked in.
Can I find driving test cancellations for free?
You won't pay us anything unless we actually find you an earlier test, so there's no risk in putting your name down. A lot of people try to sort it themselves first and give up, because it eats your evenings for weeks on end. If you'd rather someone else dealt with it, that's what we're here for.
How much does it cost?
One price, and it already includes your test fee, so there's nothing separate to pay the DVSA afterwards. Nothing gets added on later either. Pop your test centre into the booking form and it'll show you your exact price straight away, before you fill anything else in.
Do I have to pay anything upfront?
Not a penny up front. You pay once we've found you an earlier test and you've confirmed you want it, and not before.
How quickly will you find me early driving test dates?
Usually inside a week, and often a good deal sooner. It depends on your centre and how much room you've given us. If you've ticked one month and your centre is a quiet one, expect it to take longer. Ticking three or four months instead makes a big difference.
What is Early Car Test?

What is a driving test cancellation?
It's a test slot that's come free because somebody else moved or cancelled their booking. Those dates are often months earlier than anything you'd be offered booking from scratch, which is why they're worth having.
Do you cover my test centre?
All of them. Every car practical test centre in the UK, big city ones and quiet rural ones alike. Start typing your town on the booking form and yours will come up.
Do you have a driving test cancellations app?
No app needed. Everything comes to your phone by text and on WhatsApp, which you'll see quicker than an app notification anyway.
How will you let me know when you find one?
By text and on WhatsApp, the moment we've got something. If it's a short notice slot we'll phone you as well, because those don't hang around. Reply YES and we'll book it. Reply NO and we carry on looking, at no cost to you.
Is this a fast track driving test?
It's the same driving test, just sooner. There's no separate fast track queue. What we do is help you find an earlier date at your own test centre, and we usually find one within 1 to 2 weeks of you signing up.
Can you get me a test in the next few days?
Sometimes, but don't count on it. If something comes up at short notice we'll ring you rather than text, because there isn't time to wait for you to check your messages. If you're hoping for days rather than weeks, keep your phone on you.
Do I need a test booked already?
No. If you don't have one, we find one and book it for you. If you already have one, keep it and we'll look for an earlier date to move it to.
What if I've already got a test booked?
Keep it. When you sign up, give us your booking reference (or theory test pass number). We look for an earlier date, text you when we find one, and only move your test if you reply YES.
Will I lose my current test?
No. It stays exactly as it is until you agree to a new date. If we don't find anything earlier, nothing changes.
How many times can I change my test?
The DVSA lets you change a car test 2 times after booking. Each time, you can stay at the same centre, move to one of the 3 nearest, or go back to the centre you first booked. If you've already changed yours twice, we can find you a new test instead.
How much notice do I need to move my test?
Your test needs to be more than 10 working days away to be moved for free. Monday to Saturday count; Sundays and bank holidays don't.
Can I choose my own test centre and dates?
Yes, you pick both on the form. Choose your centre and tick the months you can actually do, and we won't bother you with anything outside that. Changed your plans? Message us and we'll change the search.
How do I book a driving test with you?
Fill in the booking form on the home page. It takes about two minutes. Pick your centre and the months you can do, then put in your licence details and we start looking straight away. Nothing to pay to get going.
What if you don't find me anything?
Then you pay nothing at all. We carry on looking for as long as the months you've chosen are still ahead of you.
Can I stop the search?
Any time. Reply CANCEL SEARCH to any message from us and we'll stop looking. Nothing to pay.
Are you part of the DVSA?
No. Early Car Test is completely independent and is in no way endorsed by, associated with or operated by the DVSA, the DVLA or any government body. When you sign up you're authorising us to find and secure an earlier test on your behalf, and that's all.
